RAMBLA CATALUNYA 29

NEW DEVELOPMENT IN BARCELONA

Rambla de Catalunya, 29 (Barcelona)

THE DEVELOPMENT

The development of Rambla Catalunya 29 has been carried out by the prestigious firm TDB Arquitectura Juan Trias de Bes and has involved the comprehensive reform, expansion and updating of the traditional building, adapting it to the most demanding current residential needs, in a total of 11 homes.

The first floor includes 2 commercial premises with their own independent and direct access from the street.

The identity of the original construction has been preserved by maintaining its nineteenth-century structure, restoring its facades and conserving characteristic elements such as the ventilation courtyards.

DEFINITION AND FLOOR PLANS

The extension consisted of the creation of a new gallery on the side façade, thus gaining interior space, and the construction of a new attic floor.

The same dedication and care used in the architectural recovery of Rambla Catalunya 29 has been applied in its updating and revitalization. Among the actions carried out, the redistribution of the existing dwellings, the total renovation of the lobby and staircase and the new entrance on the chamfered corner through a beautiful semi-covered porch stand out.

    LOCATION

The area is notable for its boulevard, with a magnificent central promenade adorned with linden trees and topped by a sculpture at each end.

Along the nearby streets and avenues, particularly Passeig de Gràcia, are a variety of stores including renowned international brands, fine dining establishments, prominent hotels such as the Mandarin Hotel, as well as movie theaters and theaters.

The Dreta de l’Eixample area, which extends from Plaza de Catalunya and counts Passeig de Gràcia as its main artery, has been known since the early 20th century as the “Golden Square” due to the high demand for property in this area.

This district is part of the Eixample neighborhood, which is home to important architectural works of modernism, such as Casa Batlló, La Pedrera and Casa Amatller.
